Morstein is a south-facing Westhofen hillside. Heavy clay marl with limestone deposits lies over rocky limestone layers that channel water beneath the vines.
This Auslese comes from the VDP.GROSSE LAGE Morstein vineyard. Wittmann selects the grapes by hand and handles the fruit and must gently; fermentation takes place predominantly in traditional wooden casks. The estate describes concentrated citrus fruit, fresh ginger and a cool, mineral finish.
